I love supporting those who are stuck in perfectionism, anxiety, trauma or relational issues, discover their authentic self and live from a place of empowerment. I look forward to witnessing your growth!
Why I Do This Work:
We all have the ability and desire to live as our authentic selves and to find our voice, and everyone deserves the joy and freedom that comes with doing so. I want to support you along the way.
I understand what it's like to struggle with feeling lost, depressed, confused, burnt out, grief-stricken, and disconnected from myself and others. As a child, I became a caretaker for those around me out of necessity in an environment that often wasn’t safe. I learned at a young age to put my true self away to protect myself. I know how it feels to make yourself small, hide pieces of who you are, and feel invisible. I want to meet you where you are and hold space where you can safely explore who you are, be curious, find compassion for yourself, release shame, and move toward healing and growth.
My hope is for you to become empowered to be your authentic self. Life can be hard. Relationships of all kinds come with challenges. This can be particularly true for those of us who’ve experienced lots of trauma. You deserve to live fully and freely, to express yourself, and to be heard with curiosity and intent to understand. This often means unlearning behaviors or ideas that may have served us in the past and are now holding us back, releasing societal expectations that feel out of alignment with us, and learning what works for us now. We’ll work together to understand how your past shaped who you are, and to discover how you want to show up today. I’ll be there to guide, support, and encourage you as you choose your own path. From my own experiences in therapy, I know how hard and vulnerable this work can be. And I’ve had the joy of learning to form safe relationships where I can show up fully as myself, and be loved and embraced.
I believe transformation happens in relationship, both with ourselves and with others. Part of shaping supportive relationships is learning to communicate effectively, set boundaries, and advocate for yourself. I want to help you do that, and be your ally at every step of the way. In your journey of self-discovery, I hope to also help you reconnect to your body, your sexuality, and your pleasure, whatever that means for you. I’m so excited to see you be who you are.
How I Do This Work:
I believe healing is possible for each of us when we have a safer space to explore ourselves and our experiences, free from shame and judgment. You are the expert on yourself. My goal is to provide an empathetic, welcoming space. Together, we’ll explore your history and learn how it shapes you and impacts who you are today.
Our past selves inform our current selves and relationships, and what worked for past us may not be what we need today. I’ll help you identify patterns and cycles you likely developed to keep you safe, and figure out what serves you and where you are ready for release. I strive to create a collaborative relationship centered around your needs, your strengths, and your unique self to help empower you on your path toward balance and wholeness.
Therapy with me is warm, inviting, and as safe as possible. This is a space for you to be exactly how you are in this moment. As you feel ready, we can delve deep into your emotions, past traumas, and experiences. We can also laugh, joke, talk about your pets, and share where to find the best food in Portland. You are in the driver’s seat. We’ll go at your pace, prioritizing your needs and capacity. And when we meet resistance, we’ll explore that with openness and curiosity. I’ll be there to offer a new perspective, practical tools, radical acceptance, and a gentle push when you need it.
My work is rooted in trauma-informed care. I employ an integrative, person-centered approach incorporating existential therapy, feminist psychology, cognitive behavioral aspects, polyvagal theory, somatic exercises, mindfulness, and art therapy. There is no “one-size-fits-all” therapeutic orientation and I will do my best to incorporate theories and modalities that are best suited to your needs. I find this holistic approach invaluable in the process of healing and reconnecting with your vitality and unique self-expression. I’m honored to walk alongside you.
