Week 2: We’ll review your responses to the questionnaires & discuss symptoms you may experience associated with being Autistic.

Week 3: We’ll have a thorough conversation about your experiences with socialization & community, sense of self, skills & interests, academia & workplaces, and sensory processing.

Week 4: We’ll continue our conversation about your experiences with socialization & community, sense of self, skills & interests, academia & workplaces, and sensory processing.

Between week 4 & week 5, your provider will write a thorough report with their diagnostic impression and send it to you to review.

Week 5: We’ll discuss your provider’s conclusion and perspectives, your thoughts & reflections from this process, and potential next steps for support or accommodations.

    Norma Nance: $1,225-$1,725

  • This means that we do not pathologize neurodivergent people, identities, and experiences. We view each person’s unique brain, way of being, and way of experiencing the world as valid and worthy of being understood & valued. We do not believe there is anything “wrong” with those who are Autistic. As such, our goal is to help Autistic folks feel empowered in understanding themselves and their needs.

We base our assessment process on education provided by Autistic folks. We do not align with ABA. Our assessment is also offered by a neurodivergent provider.

  • An LMFT is a licensed clinician with a Master’s degree. A Marriage & Family Therapist Associate is a registered clinician with a Master’s degree who is supervised by a fully licensed clinician. Both an LMFT and a Marriage & Family Therapist Associate are able to (with adequate training) diagnose Autism.

While an LMFT or Marriage & Family Therapist Associate can provide Autistic assessment if they have the training & experience, some schools or workplaces may require documentation from a Psychologist for accommodations (i.e. accommodating related to a learning disability). If you’re seeking out this assessment for accommodations specifically, please check with your school or workplace first to determine if documentation from an LMFT or Marriage & Family Therapist Associate is adequate.

Assessment by LMFTs and Marriage & Family Therapist Associates may be best suited for folks who want a formal diagnosis for self-understanding and a clearer path towards well-being.

  • Assessment services are generally held virtually via our secure video platform. This service is available to folks anywhere in Oregon. Taylor has occasional in person openings in NE Portland.
