Understanding myself and my identities has had a life changing effect, it can be the difference between struggling through this world daily or being able to find contentment even when going through a difficult time.

Why I Do This Work:

I grew up as an undiagnosed AuDHD person, who is also queer and trans, in a conservative Mormon environment. My masking led me to try to conform to what people expected me to be. Learning about my AuDHD was like a light coming on after being in the dark for a long time. There’s so much variety in autistic identities and, due to my struggles with language and social environments, I’ve had to learn how to navigate within a society that doesn’t understand my differences. I strive to create a space that understands and affirms your unique struggles, experiences, and needs.

As a trans nonbinary person it was shocking to see diagnosed autistic loved ones be turned away from receiving important gender affirming care because of their autistic identity. You know what you need best, autistic people deserve gender affirming care. Even within more queer accepting places the systemic gender binaries can open up a lot of struggles; I am committed to helping facilitate your exploration of gender and how that shows up for you.

I would like to increase support for neurodivergent relationships, especially relationships where both partners are neurodivergent. My partner and I have both faced unique struggles learning how to navigate our relationship as two AuDHD people with very different needs, due to there being little support and information available about multiple autistic people being in relationship together. I hope to create a nonjudgmental environment for people to discuss relational & sexual experiences and things they want to work through together.

As someone with an invisible chronic illness, I understand how deeply integrated ableism is in our society and how little recognition or understanding there is around the struggles of disabled people or the acknowledgement to combat ableism. Knowing how ableism can affect disabled people, I actively work to stay aware of how ableism can enter the therapy space.

How I Do This Work:

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process where we will work together to navigate the relational and systemic struggles that you may be facing. I am passionate about working with neurodivergent, especially autistic and ADHD individuals, in a way that is affirming to your identities. I aim to be understanding of your neurotype and to work with your needs.

I want to create a space where we can discuss your relationship from a nonjudgmental, sex, kink, and BDSM positive, gender and neurodivergent affirming, and antiracist lens. I welcome relationships of all shapes and sizes whether you are monogamous or practice consensual non- monogamy, or would like to explore new ways to be in relationships.

I theoretically lean towards using Narrative Family Therapy and Experiential Therapy, while also including knowledge from my interest in neuroscience by incorporating Interpersonal Neurobiology. I seek to find new and creative ways to do therapy. If you have a specific special interest that you enjoy, I’d love to discuss ways that we can incorporate this into our sessions. If you enjoy art or movement to explore emotions and storytelling, let me know and we can use these forms of communication in our work together. I  don’t think therapy will look the same for any person, we all have unique ways of moving through the things that are difficult and I hope that we can find what works best for you.

A quick about me so you know a little more before we meet: My SpIns (special interests) tend to revolve around botany, neuroscience, or art. I love learning about moss and fungi, and I also have a love for making and watching animations. Other things I like to do are hiking, playing board or video games, listening to music, and puzzles. I love animals, I have four cats and a dog. I’m excited to get the chance to get to know you and your interests as well.
