I’m honored to support you and your relationships. I am a sex positive, queer affirming and neurodivergent informed therapist. You deserve to live a life of authenticity, connection and pleasure.
Why I Do This Work:
Growing up in a turbulent household, I learned to navigate the complexities of family dynamics from a young age, often taking on the role of a “mini therapist” to support those around me. At the same time, as one of the few openly queer kids in our conservative small town, I faced unique challenges. I constantly felt ostracized and deeply misunderstood by both my peers and the adults around me. I know that this is a shared journey for many. My own mental health and trauma struggles began early on, leading me to seek therapy during my early teen years. Since then, my therapeutic journey has been ongoing. It became clear to me long ago that I wanted to offer others a safer space — a container — to explore their own struggles, experiences, and sense of self.
As a neurodivergent person, I understand firsthand the challenges of navigating our world. The constant ebb and flow of mental health, compounded by external pressures, can be incredibly overwhelming and defeating. I know how deeply activating relationships with others can be and how painful it can be to be vulnerable. I have also witnessed the deeply transformative power that comes from having support, access to resources, introspection, and time to process with another person.
Because of my own experiences, I have a particular passion for supporting sex workers. I understand the nuance of how this path can come with challenges and hardships while also potentially being a rewarding experience. I bring a unique perspective to my practice, understanding the complexities and nuances of navigating such a dynamic and multifaceted industry. As a kinky person, I found immense excitement and passion in exploring sex therapy and how intimacy, relationships, and kink can be healing to us as both partners and individuals. When I learned about couples therapy, I knew this was the perfect way to combine my love for love and intimacy, as well as my innate curiosity about the human experience.
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in psychology with an emphasis on sex and sexuality, complemented by studies in religious and spiritual practices. I am currently in the process of completing my Master’s degree in Marriage, Couples, & Family Therapy with a Sex Therapy specialization at Lewis & Clark College here in Portland.
It is an honor to do this work for others and bear witness to the meaning my clients make out of their lives.
How I Do This Work:
I want our sessions to be what feels good for you, whatever that may look like. My initial goal is to build a relationship where you feel comfortable, seen, heard, and valued. Providing you with an environment that will not only honor your worth but also a space to explore and share your experiences openly with me.
Where we come from matters. The events, relationships, and traumas in our past shape who we are and the patterns in our lives; I want to recognize that these patterns likely formed in the past to protect and keep us safe. I am here to guide you in recognizing those patterns and understanding how they may influence your life.
Personally, I have always found a lot of healing through humor, and so you’ll find at times that I can be playful and joke around in session with you. I want to explore your emotions and obstacles as well as what inspires and motivates you. I approach our sessions with unwavering dedication, addressing even the darkest and most challenging aspects you may be grappling with. While providing validation and compassion, I won’t hesitate to push you when it’s needed for growth.
I care deeply about your feelings and needs & will make space for feedback. I do my best, but I may not always get it right. I want to create a space where we can openly and honestly discuss what is helpful to you.
As a therapist with a focus on relationships and systemic perspectives, I’ll be attentive to how your experiences within relationships and broader societal structures shape your well-being. If you like therapy jargon, I’m primarily rooted in Emotionally Focused and Narrative Therapy with a lil’ sprinkling of Existential. I’m informed and affirming around sex work, queerness, gender expansiveness, kink/BDSM, and asexuality.
I’m engaged to a fantastic nerdy and neurodivergent person, and we have two kitty fur babies. I love playing video games, reading fantasy books (especially the spicy kind), and watching movies/shows. I also loveeee doing arts and crafts and have a passion for dance.
