Why I Do This Work:
I believe in the power of connection, healing, and self-discovery. My journey to becoming a therapist was shaped by my own lived experiences, which have given me deep empathy and understanding for those navigating trauma, identity, and relationship challenges. I know what it feels like to be disconnected from oneself and others, carrying the weight of unresolved pain. My goal is to help individuals and couples reclaim their sense of wholeness, authenticity, and relational fulfillment.
From an early age, I learned to suppress my emotions to cope with a turbulent family dynamic. This led to struggles with substance use, violence, conflict, and instability. Although I was able to shift my trajectory in my late teens—finding success in academics and athletics—unprocessed trauma continued to influence my behaviors and relationships. It wasn’t until I engaged in therapy in my 30s that I began truly unpacking my experiences, embracing healing, self-love, and meaningful connection with others. This personal journey fuels my deep commitment to guiding others through their own paths of transformation.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in social services with at-risk youth, witnessing firsthand the impact of trauma and systemic barriers. This work solidified my passion for supporting individuals in breaking cycles of pain and finding their path toward healing. Through these experiences, I developed a deep appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit and the power of authentic connection.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with an emphasis on human rights and a minor in visual arts. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s in Marriage, Couples & Family Therapy with a Sex Therapy specialization at Lewis & Clark College.
How I Do This Work:
My approach to therapy is relational, systemic, and deeply rooted in transparency, curiosity, and humor. I aim to co-create a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to explore the depths of your inner world. Whether we are working through trauma, relationship dynamics, or identity exploration, I bring a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to our work together. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Attachment Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), while also holding space for how systems of power, privilege, and oppression shape our experiences. Therapy with me is not just about insight—it’s about creating real, lasting change in how you engage with yourself and those around you.
My practice is affirming and informed around queerness, gender expansiveness, ethical non-monogamy, kink/BDSM, asexuality, and disability. I strive to create a nonjudgmental, sex-positive space where all aspects of your identity can be explored safely. I am committed to anti-racist and decolonizing frameworks and actively reflect on how my own privileges and lived experiences show up in the therapy room.
When I’m not in session, you can find me outdoors, staying active, playing board games, or spending time with my beloved chonky dog and sleepy old cat. I’m a longtime vegan, an extrovert who thrives on deep conversations, and someone who values humor and creativity in all aspects of life. Movement, connection, and curiosity are central to my personal and professional philosophy, and I bring these values into every therapeutic relationship.
I welcome you to reach out and explore how we can work together toward healing, growth, and greater self-understanding.
